Simple Seeds #3

1Ki 19:1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. 1Ki 19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do [to me], and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time. 1Ki 19:3 And when he saw [that], he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which [belongeth] to Judah, and left his servant there. 1Ki 19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I [am] not better than my fathers.

Looking back at some of the things Jesus has brought me through, experiencing incredible victories with Christ, I am amazed how I can be “stumped” by personal inadequacies. How do we know if the enemy is accusing us? FEAR! The enemy will say, you are not going to make it because I am going to kill you! Elijah said to the Lord, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life. The words IT IS ENOUGH are similar to the words Jesus spoke on the Cross Jhn 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Jesus gave is life for us so we could walk in the fullness of victory over the spirit of fear (death). All men have 1 fear and that is the fear of death. Amazing how when men come to this place how they will do everything in there power to prolong life or at least what they think is life. There is only 1 real life “Eternal Life” given as a gift through Jesus when he spoke the words It is finished. When we come to the crossroads of life there is only 1 way. When Elijah asked the Lord to take away his life, He was surrendering his will. The Lord took his life and brought Him to a place of complete victory. Showing him a deeper revelation of what was really happening. God has a plan and we must surrender to it. Elijah was asked a question by the word of the Lord 1Ki 19:9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD [came] to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah? I can hear this question like this “Tim why are you hear” or “Tim why have I placed you on this earth”, Elijah was in the cave, the secret place, a place of holiness before the Lord. This is where we will find our purpose. We are to go and allow Jesus to be seen through us not by words but by Action! When Elijah was given the word He acted upon it, lived it / Spoke it. The Word is with us today for us to hold on to. SPEAK IT and you will see what God will do. Elijah went without the fear of the messenger, He walked with the Lord. 1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We have complete victory. Rejoice when you see the impossible, Speak the word only, we have the victory. Psa 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Jesus has given us direction for this day by His word. The word made flesh in us!

God Bless You.
