Simple Seeds #13

Jhn 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father,
keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are].

What does it mean to be one with Jesus?

Jesus’ plan is seen in scripture:

Luk 8:22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them,
Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

Luk 8:23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake;
and they were filled [with water], and were in jeopardy.

Luk 8:24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose,
and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

Luk 8:25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another,
What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

Jesus asks, “Where is your faith?” Jesus is the author and finisher of faith. He is the beginning and the ending. Jesus
was asking the disciples, “Where am I in you?”
When you face stressful situations, what comes out of your mouth will determine what is in your heart. Jesus looked
and could not see Himself in them.

Every plan given by God will require faith to complete it otherwise it would not be pleasing to Him.

To walk by the word brings great joy to the heart of Jesus. Our life is to please Him.

The disciples response in verse 24, “Master we perish”, this is speaking at Jesus not agreeing with Him.

Jesus’ word will fill you. His plan is to make the word flesh in you. Is He enough for you?
Jam 3:4 Behold also the ships, which though [they be] so great, and [are] driven of fierce winds,
Yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
The size of the storm is irrelevant. The word is the truth and guides the ship through any storm. It makes
no difference how big or how small.
Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].
In vs 23 the words were filled:
1) to fill completely
a) of the hold of a ship
This word is also found in Act 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
vs 23 the water was filling up the ship. this is symbolic of your life being filled with the word, the trial you are in is designed
to fill you with the presence of the Lord, this day will fully come.

In our first verse today Jesus said father make them one as we are one.

We are made one through the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
Pro 20:27 The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was seen over their heads as a tongue of fire. He was lighting their spirit to be able to accomplish all
that would be set before them. God is calling your spirit out today to be seen as His candle ablaze with the Holy Spirit.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Satan wants to keep the power of God from being seen in your life. Everything he is and does is as wood, hay, and stubble.
When the attack of the enemy becomes so great and feels like you are being smothered. Rejoice, God inhabits the praises
of His people.
Your candle will ignite the stubble causing a bomb fire. The more he throws at you the more ablaze you will become.
Psa 18:25 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
Psa 18:26 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.
Psa 18:27 For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
Psa 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness
Psa 18:29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
Psa 18:30 [As for] God, his way [is] perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he [is] a buckler to all those that trust in him.

Jesus was able to sleep on the ship. He is the Prince of peace.

The Holy Spirit is the comforter,
The word has been spoken to you today. Let’s go to the other side.

The Word will sustain you, keep you, and guide you.

Jesus is the light of Heaven. He is your light today. He is your guide. You are an overcomer!

God Bless You,

Pastor Tim
